The Bachelor of International and Sustainable Business (BISB) will prepare you to become a high-growth, innovative entrepreneur and/or leader with focus on international business development and new value creation. This programme builds a bridge between knowledge and the practical and impactful application of business. The programme is international and interdisciplinary in knowledge and scope and its teaching & learning methodologies are highly interactive.
Who should do the programme?
The BISB is suitable for secondary school graduates interested in pursuing careers in business. It will prepare the student to become a successful entrepreneur or gain employment across a wide spectrum of industries and career options. The BISB is suitable for working professionals interested in furthering their education and improving skills to become more marketable in their workplaces and a given opportunity to become an entrepreneur and be successful.
Electives will be done based on the minimum number of 10 students. With the permission of the School, students may be allowed to substitute up to two (2) courses in their specialization with relevant courses available at the St. Augustine campus or from alternate specializations within the programme.
Academic Faculty who have done extensive research in business education internationally. Practitioners and Adjunct Faculty who have lead organizations and are experts in their field. Faculty who facilitate learning and ensure you have grasp concepts for each area of business and are able to implement that knowledge and skills for impactful results.
Lead faculty responsible for the elective course are as follows:
- Dr. Balraj Kistow – Disruptive Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- Dr. Jacqueline Bridg – Technology and Operations Management
- Dr. Joseph Khan – Strategy and Project Execution
Dr. Henry Bailey
Henry Bailey has lectured in Economics, Applied Economics, Econometrics, and Quantitative Analysis courses at the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business since 2010. He also lectures in Statistics and Economics at the Faculty of Social Sciences and in Pharmacoeconomics at the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of the West Indies. He also has BSc and MSc degrees in economics and an MBA. He has published in several international journals in the areas of utility theory and health economics, he has presented research at various research forums in Health Economics and Development.
Dr. Marcia Headley is an Academic Manager on the DBA Programme with responsibility for Research Seminars & Dissertations. She is also a faculty member at UWI-ALJGSB. She is a strong professional who advocates continuous learning that leads to personal transformation. She believes that students must be conscious creators of knowledge in order to stay relevant in an uncertain and increasingly volatile future. Dr. Headley’s many interests include the impact of principled decision-making on human conduct in business, education, and organizational life. She has lectured at the secondary and tertiary levels and is trained in curriculum development and authentic learning. Dr. Headley has a Ph.D. from Howard University in Washington D.C., as well as postgraduate qualifications in International Relations.
Angela de Coteau
Mrs. Angela de Coteau worked in both the public and private sectors in Trinidad and Tobago. Her experience in the field of Training, Personal Development and Counseling allowed her to reside and work in Antigua and the Cayman Islands over a span of seven years. Her qualifications include:
- Certificate in Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator from American Management, New York
- Master’s of Science in Management with Human Resource concentration.
- Post- Graduate Certificate in Project Management
- Certificate in Human Sexuality, New York
- Certificate and a Bsc. (Hons) Social Work U.W.I, Mona Jamaica
- She also engaged in studies towards her M.B.A. and a Post Graduate Degree in Business Administration.
