ALJGSB response to recent newspaper articles

Posted by Lok Jack GSB on Sunday, 08 January 2017 in General

As the Executive Director of ALJGSB since 2009, it is with deep concern that I write to you about the grave allegations being levelled against the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business (ALJGSB) in articles in the Trinidad Express on January 2nd and 3rd 2017.

I wish to categorically state that the Board, the Management of the School, and I personally, take all matters of harassment and personal safety of our ALJGSB students and staff very seriously. To date there has been no formal report or communication received from a student or staff member related to sexual harassment.

We are fully committed to act decisively on all matters of safety and security brought to our attention; and in which case a fair, proper and thorough investigation will be conducted in accordance with the formal and documented ALJGSB and UWI processes which govern the School's operations.

Our student handbook which is available via our website, provides the processes available to the students and staff of the School as we aim to ensure that everyone is aware of the channels for redress on such issues. We reiterate that these processes provide confidentiality to students and staff.

I would like to again thank you for your generous and continued support as we work together to maintain the reputation of our institution as a provider of high quality business education delivered in an innovative, creative and safe environment.

Professor Miguel Carrillo
Executive Director
Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business
